My first double LP! Obviously this is an immensely personal record for myself and my bandmates, and it represents an awful lot of work. I blew up 4 amps in the process of making this album, we did some wild experimental recording (ask me about the piano and cello drones and see me go wild for an hour or so), we recorded a baby gargling, and we opened the record to contributions from the general public as well as friends and family.
The content we were sent was incredibly hard to deal with at times, people baring their soul to us about their often traumatic experiences of loss. It was a challenge to honour their courage in sharing these in a creative and respectful way, so listen closely to the ambient sound in the record, the affected samples, and even in the heaviest sections of the record some of the words we were sent are buried in there.
I am incredibly grateful to everyone who sent us stories to be used for this.
