What to say about this album!? An absolute masterclass in basically every genre of metal. Disruptions caused by the pandemic made the process slightly more disjointed than usual (as well as the broken bones I incurred), but nothing could stop this from being an exceptional black metal release from some of the most dedicated, inventive and trve people I have met.
Worshipping the old masters of heavy metal and combining it with their own unique brand of terrormetal made this super fun and super challenging to capture in the studio. The bass guitar for example, is just a Peavey 5150 through an 8x10. No pedals, no nonsense, just straight rock. Getting the drums right at source was absolutely vital though, they needed to straddle being hyper aggressive whilst also sounding real and natural, and with enough space for the rototoms to shine through. I can’t remember what brand kit was used, but there’s a big Manowar sticker on the rack tom so you know it’s not messing around.
