Tracked back in April 2017, Ithaca have been through more than most to get this album out there. We had a lot of fun in the studio (see below for the outstanding double necked bass guitar which may or may not have ended up on the record), and despite all of us being involved in a car crash during the recording we still had plenty of time to mess with pedals to create the right ambience, and bring in friends and members of Oh Man The Mountain to add strings and brass to the record.
A special mention to Djamila for her vocal performance is due, after smashing through cleans in a blink of an eye (credit musical theatre training there) she was subjected to the gruelling effort of delivering incredibly personal lyrics over and over again in the so-called ‘Elimination Chamber’ (named after a WIP track title, this has become the de facto name of the studio). Not an experience for the faint-hearted!
